Attorney Angela Kase writes about hostile takeovers of apartment associations in the business newspaper Äripäev

Published on 14 November, Äripäev’s special issue on apartment associations includes a lengthy article by RASK lawyer and construction expert Angela Kase on the trend of hostile takeovers of apartment associations and the dangers for apartment owners.

In Estonian real estate, it has recently become increasingly likely that instead of an apartment association’s “renovation plans”, an apartment owner may unknowingly agree to considerably larger structural rearrangements related to the realization of the private interests of a smaller group. At worst, apartment owners thereby accept loan obligations that can reach tens of thousands of euros. Based on her practice, lawyer Angela Kase explains the stipulations and shortcomings in the relevant legislation, and what apartment owners should definitely pay attention to before signing any “renovation plans”.

Angela Kase is an experienced specialist in the field of construction. In addition to a law degree, she also has a Master’s degree from the School of Engineering of Tallinn University of Technology. For more than 10 years, she has been active as an entrepreneur in the fields of environment, construction and planning.

Angela also commented on this topic on Äripäev’s morning programme. You can listen to Angela on the show online HERE (starting from 24:19).
